Step 1: First download the fasttboot tool.
Step 2: Download drivers from HTC sync by installing it.
Step 3: Download the recovery file from here extract it in fastboot tool folder .
Step 4: Open the adb fastboot, and open fast boot connect your device in fastboot mode here is the help. then type the command to check your device is connect it fastboot mode fastboot devices.
Step 5: Rename the recovery image to recovery and also its extension as .img, now type the following command to flash cwm recovery fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step 6: ClockworkMod Recovery has been successfully flashed.
Now follow the further instructions to Flash SuperSU zip package, which will grant root access on your phone.
Step 7: Copy the SuperSU zip package to your phone.
Step 8: Turn Off your phone and reboot it into recovery mode, hold down the Volume Down+Power buttons simultaneously and from the menu, select the recovery option.

Note your device should be with unlock bootloader for it dosent matter its s-off or s-on both condition works if bootloader is unlock.
