How to Install Android 4.4.4 on Xperia Arc and Xperia Arc S
Download the paranoidandroid rom zip and place it anywhere on your PC
Make sure that you are using Windows 7 since Windows 8 and 8.1 do not support ADB
Extract boot.img from the rom zip and copy it to Minimal ADB and Fastboot Installation folder
Now copy rom zip and Gapps zip to phone’s SD Card
Turn off your smartphone
Now start Minimal ADB and Fastboot from desktop icon (If you made one during installation)
Or go to installation folder, where you just put the boot.img, hold shift button on keyboard and right-click on mouse
Click on Open Command Window Here
It will open the cmd prompt
Now connect a USB cable to PC only
Hold menu button on your phone and plug in the USB cable on phone (button must be kept pressed while plugging in and not left until LED is stable at blue or any color other than red)
In the previously opened cmd prompt, type fastboot flash boot boot.img and press Enter
Flashing will be done in few seconds
Now type fastboot reboot and press Enter
Phone will reboot, unplug it and press volume up/down buttons while it is booting up
You phone will enter custom recovery
if your phone is not booting up, then again enter fastboot mode
Type fastboot erase system and press Enter
Type fastboot erase userdata and press Enter
Now enter recovery mode
Navigate to Mounts and Storage
Wipe /System, /Data and /Cache
Navigate to the folder where you have placed the rom zip and install it
In CWM, navigate with volume buttons and make a selection using power button
In TWRP, everything is operated using touchscreen
When the zip has been installed, navigate to main menu and do a factory data reset
Also wipe cache partition and dalvik cache in advanced tab
Now install Gapps zip the same way you installed rom zip
Once both files have been installed, navigate back to main menu of recovery
Reboot the device
First boot will take up to 10 minutes
